Sustainability

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Planet Re-imagined, sustainability begins with a simple idea: the choices we make as consumers and producers influence the world we share. What we buy, how products are made, how long we use them, and what happens when we no longer need them all have implications for people and the planet.

Through Re-imagined Fashion, we aim to bring sustainability into everyday life by connecting nature-inspired fashion with conscious consumption, responsible production, and education. We believe fashion can do more than express personal style; it can also inspire conversations about our relationship with nature and the impact of our everyday choices.

We recognise that sustainability is a journey rather than a destination. We are committed to learning, improving, communicating transparently, and helping our customers make more informed purchasing decisions.

Rethinking How Fashion Is Produced

Conventional clothing production can involve significant resource use, transportation, packaging, and waste. Producing more responsibly means considering these impacts throughout a product's life cycle—from the materials used and the manufacturing process to delivery, garment care, reuse, and end of life.

As part of our commitment to more responsible fashion production, Planet Re-imagined has deliberately chosen a print-on-demand business model as one way of supporting more sustainable patterns of consumption and production. Rather than producing large quantities of finished products in advance, this approach allows selected items to be produced in response to customer orders. We believe this is one practical way to align our business operations more closely with our sustainability principles. However, print-on-demand is not without environmental impacts. Materials, manufacturing processes, transportation, packaging, and product disposal still matter.

We view this approach as one component of our broader, ongoing commitment to more thoughtful production and consumption. We also encourage our customers to make considered purchasing decisions, care for their garments, use them for as long as practical, and consider repair, reuse, or responsible disposal when appropriate.

Our Production Partners

At Planet Re-imagined, sustainability is an important consideration in how we select our products and production partners. Our aim is to offer products that align with our commitment to more responsible consumption and production, including clothing made with considered materials and products designed for repeated use and extended product life.

We deliberately seek production and fulfilment partners that offer products aligned with our sustainability philosophy. Some providers offer both conventional products and dedicated ranges of sustainability-oriented alternatives, while others focus more specifically on sustainable production and product design. We therefore select products with their individual characteristics in mind rather than assuming that every item in a provider's catalogue has the same environmental attributes.

Each provider has its own materials, production processes, facilities, and sustainability initiatives. The environmental characteristics of individual products can vary depending on factors such as material composition, manufacturing methods, transportation, durability, and end-of-life options.

We encourage our customers to consult individual product pages for information about materials, product features, and other available sustainability-related attributes before making a purchase. We aim to communicate transparently about what is known, avoid unsupported environmental claims, and continually improve the information we provide as our product range evolves.

Printful

Printful offers a range of custom products, including a dedicated collection of products marketed as eco-friendly, made with organic or recycled materials. As part of our commitment to more responsible fashion production, we seek to select products from this collection that align with Planet Re-imagined's sustainability philosophy.

Printful also uses a print-on-demand production model, under which products are made in response to customer orders. This approach can help reduce the risk of overproduction and unsold inventory. Nevertheless, the environmental characteristics of individual products depend on factors including their materials, manufacturing processes, transportation, and durability.

Printify

Printify provides access to a broad catalogue of custom products, including a dedicated selection of products marketed as eco-friendly, made with materials such as organic cotton and recycled fibres, or made to be reused. Our intention is to select products that reflect Planet Re-imagined's commitment to more responsible consumption and production, rather than assuming that every product in a provider's catalogue has the same sustainability attributes.

Printify's print-on-demand model allows products to be produced after an order is placed, which can help reduce the risk of excess inventory and unsold products. As production may involve different print providers, materials, manufacturing arrangements, and fulfilment locations can vary by product.

Eco Merch

Eco Merch specialises in print-on-demand products with a focus on sustainable materials and production methods. Its product catalogue includes clothing and other items featuring attributes such as organic cotton, recycled materials, and relevant sustainability certifications. The company also describes using water-based inks in its printing processes.

Our decision to work with providers such as Eco Merch reflects our intention to offer products that align with Planet Re-imagined's commitment to more responsible consumption and production. We recognise that sustainability involves more than the materials used in a product; manufacturing processes, transportation, durability, and end-of-life options also matter.

Teemill

Teemill offers print-on-demand clothing and other products through a production model centred on sustainability and circular design. Its approach includes products made with certified organic materials, production powered by renewable energy, and designs intended to allow materials to be recovered and remade into new products when items reach the end of their useful life.

We value Teemill's emphasis on rethinking conventional fashion production by combining on-demand manufacturing with circular product design. This approach aligns with Planet Re-imagined's ambition to encourage more responsible production, reduce the risk of overproduction, and promote more thoughtful use of resources.

Teemill notes that while it manufactures most of its products, some items are sourced from external suppliers. .

While we strive to source products with varying degrees of sustainability attributes, working with a particular provider does not mean that every product we offer has identical sustainability credentials. Product availability, production arrangements, and provider services may also change over time. We encourage customers to consult individual product pages for information about specific materials, certifications, and other relevant product attributes.

Materials and Product Information

The materials used to make a garment are an important part of its sustainability profile, but they are not the only consideration. Material sourcing, processing, manufacturing, transportation, durability, garment care, and end-of-life options can all influence a product's overall impacts.

Where product information is available, we encourage customers to review the stated material composition and other relevant details before purchasing. Claims about organic materials, recycled content, certifications, or particular environmental benefits should be based on information that applies to the specific product.

We aim to communicate product information clearly and avoid suggesting that any product is impact-free. Every product has an environmental footprint, and understanding those impacts is part of making more informed choices.

Conscious Consumption: Beyond the Purchase

We believe sustainability involves more than choosing a product labelled as eco-friendly. It also involves thinking carefully about whether we need an item, how often we will use it, how long it is likely to last, and whether we can make better use of what we already own.

Our approach encourages a life-cycle perspective and more intentional consumption. Before buying, consider questions such as:

  • Need: Is this something I genuinely need or will use regularly?
  • Materials: What is the product made from, and what information is available about those materials?
  • Longevity: Is the item suitable for repeated use, and how can I care for it properly?
  • Alternatives: Could I repair, reuse, borrow, or purchase something I already need instead?
  • End of life: How might I reuse, donate, repair, or responsibly dispose of the item when I no longer need it?

These questions can help make consumption more intentional while recognising that people have different needs, circumstances, and access to sustainable alternatives.

People, Communities, and Shared Responsibility

Sustainability is not only about the environment. It also includes the people and communities involved in growing materials, manufacturing products, transporting goods, selling products, and managing waste.

Social sustainability involves considering working conditions, human well-being, community impacts, and the distribution of benefits and burdens across supply chains. Reliable information about these issues is important, and we recognise that the availability of such information can vary among products and providers.

We believe businesses and consumers both have a role in encouraging more responsible production and consumption. Businesses influence product design, sourcing, and manufacturing decisions; consumers influence demand through their purchasing and use choices. Meaningful progress requires attention to both.

Transparency and Continuous Improvement

We want our sustainability communications to be useful, credible, and transparent. We recognise that environmental and social claims should be supported by relevant evidence and that no single material, label, or production method automatically makes a product sustainable in every respect.

As our store and product range evolve, we aim to improve the information we provide about materials, production, and relevant product attributes. Where information has not been verified or is not available, we will not treat it as an established fact.

Our commitment is to keep learning, ask better questions, and make more informed decisions as we work towards a more responsible approach to fashion.

Be Part of the Change

Creating a more sustainable future requires thoughtful choices, responsible production, and systems that support the well-being of people and the planet.

At Planet Re-imagined, we use fashion as one way to encourage a broader conversation about consumption, production, and our connection with the natural world. We invite you to explore our products, consider the information available, care for what you own, and make choices that reflect your values and circumstances.

Reimagining what we wear. Rethinking what we consume. Inspiring a more sustainable future.
